This dynamic group of Grammy Award winning musicians hail from 3 different cultures: frontman Nikhil Korula is an Indian American singer songwriter that has been touring with passion and style with his full band, the Nikhil Korula Band, for over 20+ years, Andre Desantana is a Brazilian bassist who has been laying down the groove with Jason Mraz and Sergio Mendes and Gene Coye is an African American drummer that has been playing drums with an intensely ferocious groove with artists like Seal and Larry Carlton, to name a few. What brings these three incredible artists together is their passion for the blues, their drive to preserve the tradition, but to also help innovate and push the genre forward in this new millennium.
The NK Power Trio released their first album in 2023, CROSSROADS, with special guests Chuck Leavell from the Rolling Stones playing on 2 songs along with other incredible musicians who play with John Fogerty, Lenny Kravitz, Booker T, Harry Styles, Richie Kotzen and more, all jamming with one vision: to make this soulful, bluesy album rock. With 5 original songs and 10 covers, the concept was simple: to create an album and pay tribute to all of the artists that inspired them to want to start a blues trio together. With influences like Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, John Mayer Trio and Gary Clark Jr, their original songs stand tall in the company of some of the most historic covers.
